Cheap and Clever Ways to Hide Your Beer
Whether you’re at a child’s sports day or just trying to keep your booze out of the clutches of your vagrant roommate, sometimes you need to conceal your beer. There are many cheap and clever ways to hide your beer from fun gadgets to purpose-built items. Below are our top picks.
Three Cheap and Clever Ways to Hide Your Beer
A simple search of the interweb will reveal a host of items that can make hiding your beer in plain sight fun and easy but here are a few ideas we liked the most.
1. Koozies
One of the easiest ways to hide your beer is to purchase can covers online. Retailers like Amazon and eBay offer tons of novelty koozies to not only hide your beer but keep it cool. These koozies typically make your beer appear to be a can of soda like Coca-Cola or Pepsi. They even have can concealers that look like a cup of Starbucks coffee.
If you’re willing to take matters into your own hands you can even make your own can covers. A quick YouTube search of how to make your own koozies will show you a number of ways you can make can covers at home for little to no money. Here is a video that will walk you through making your own.
2. BeerBelly/BeerBra
If you need to hide your beer at an event where they charge astronomical prices for a lukewarm beer with a fly in it, check out the BeerBelly and the BeerBra. These novelty beer disguises come in two shapes and hide under your clothes.
Both are worn as a vest and contain internal plastic bladders and tubes to hold your favorite booze. Simply fill your new enhanced body part with whatever you feel is worth the hangover and cover it with some thick clothing. Both of these apparatuses cost around $25 each and can even be worn together to truly turn you into a beer camel.
3. Hiking Backpack
Personally, if I needed to conceal beer in public I would use a camping-style backpack that has an internal water bladder. These backpacks can be bought online or at any outdoor store and work similarly to the BeerBelly and Bra. The backpacks are designed to carry water on hiking trips and are normally very well isolated.
This insolation is a huge plus because you can place ice packs inside the pouch and keep your beer cool. You can also store more beer in the backpack to refill the bladder when it runs dry. Not to mention, you will now have a well-made backpack that you can carry other things in as well like snacks for when the beer has been drunk.
Carrying a backpack is also much more common today as people need to carry laptops and tablets around with them. So you won’t look as conspicuous as you might think walking around town. These hiking-style backpacks range in price from around $20 to $50 and come in a variety of styles and colors to fit your fancy.
How Should I Hide My Beer?
With all that being said, there are many cheap and clever ways to hide your beer but it is all up to the level of effort your willing to expend. You could spend several hours in your garage trying to make your own beer koozies and only end up with bloody fingernails or fork out roughly $20 for a proper stash vessel. The choice is yours. Either way, there is no shortage of ways to hide your booze.
