Costco Product Installer Does Not Show Up

We have all been there patiently waiting for our new home appliance to be delivered. You have complied with all the company’s demands, including being home between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on the day of your delivery. After jumping through all their hoops like a trained seal, the clock on your delivery window strikes zero and no installer is in sight. Don’t panic. Here is what to do if your Costco product installer does not show up.

Preparing for a Costco Installation

Costco is one of the biggest retailers in the world with thousands of employees, but even the titan of logistics occasionally falls short due to human error. The night before your scheduled install you should have received an automated phone call from Costco detailing your information and giving you a two-hour window for your product to be delivered. The phone call will be sent to the primary phone number on your receipt  If you did not receive this phone call, a mistake has been made and you need to contact customer service as soon as possible.

What to Do If Your Costco Installer Doesn’t Show Up

If you did receive the confirmation phone call and your product does not show up, the first thing you need to do is track your order. This can be done easily by visiting Costco’s tracking site and entering your order tracking number.

When your product arrived at your local Costco delivery center you should have received an email confirmation for scheduling the delivery. This will have the details on your in-home delivery as well as your order tracking number.

After entering your tracking number, click the check status button. Then you will be taken to a page showing the status of your order. This helpful page displays the date, time, and location of your order at every step of the process.

Once there, check the status section for notes like canceled at MDO receiving. On its journey to your home, your order is inspected every time it enters a new warehouse. If the MDO cancellation status appears, a defect was found in your product when it arrived at the Costco logistics final mile warehouse and was sent back.

If the order tracking page says your product is on its way but it is past your delivery window, the installers may have fallen behind on deliveries and are running late. However, if you do not want to wait around to see if they eventually show you you need to contact customer service.

Contacting Costco Customer Service

If you want to talk to a real person, you can call 1-800-774-2678, press 1, and enter your Costco membership number. Calling this number will connect you to a live customer service representative. Keep in mind, they are only available during business hours. Human Costco representatives can be reached Monday through Friday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. PST. On the weekends, you can reach them on the same number between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. PST. Costco’s helpful representatives will assist you in finding your order and getting your product to its rightful destination.
