Many people have made the switch from smoking real cigarettes to vaping. It has become a great alternative to smoking, and studies confirm that, as of now, it is a safer option. Whether you are a vaping enthusiast or thinking about making the switch, it’s important to know that you can make your own e-juice. There are lots of flavor options to choose from when making your own e-juice and lots of simple tips and tricks to follow.

Many people don’t understand that home brewing beer and home steeping vape juice actually have a lot in common. By taking a look at the history of home brewing and home steeping, it becomes easier to see the similarities between the two.

History of Home Brewing Beer

Did you know humans have been brewing beer for thousands of years, going back at least as far as 5000 BC? Home brewing beer became legal across all of America back in 2013, making it simple for Americans to brew their own craft beer right from the comfort of their own homes. In fact, in 2017 alone, more than 1 million Americans brewed their own beer at home.

History of Steeping Vape Juice

Vaping, on the other hand, just became popular over the past few years. What you probably don’t know, however, is that it has roots dating all the way back to ancient Egypt and India. The first successful e-cigarette was released back in 2003. By 2018, a surprising one in every 20 Americans vaped. That’s 10.8 million Americans.

Comparing Home Brewing Beer and Home Steeping Vape Juice

Although brewing beer and home steeping e-juice have their similarities, both have their differences, too. The method for home brewing beer involves boiling and fermenting by volume. For home steeping vape juice, the method used involves mixing by weight. Ingredients used for home brewing beer include malt extracts, hops, yeast, and water. For steeping e-juice, the ingredients are propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerin (VG), and flavorings.

As far as equipment for home brewing beer and making vape juice, the latter requires a scale, gloves, disposable pipettes, glass bottles, dropper capes, and a calculator app. For home brewing beer, you will need the following:

  • Large stockpot
    Large metal spoon
    Measuring cup
    Strainer
    Fermenter
    Bottling bucket
    Airlock
    Thermometer
    Siphon
    Bottle filler
    Capper
    Bottles and caps

As you can see, you need far more equipment to home brew beer. For both home brewing beer and home steeping vape juice, though, there are recipes available. It will take three to five weeks to ferment and carbonate beer. It only takes three days to three weeks to steep e-juice.

Both home brewing beer and home steeping vape juice require a cool, dark room for storage. They both come with multiple advantages, including the ability to create custom flavors and the ability to save money over time.
