Spring 2008 semester finished and grades are in!

11 years ago • Comments

My second semester in graduate school ended this past week and I got an A in both classes again! So I’m 40% of the way into the program and I still have a 4.0 GPA. I wasn’t trying for perfection, but since I started off with a 4.0, it’s now my mission to keep it.

I’ve taken 4 classes, for a total of about $10,500 (with books) in the last 2 semesters. However, all of those classes have been covered by my employer…but not for the rest of the year. I’ve used up my tuition reimbursement for the year already ($5200), so the next 3 classes are out of my own pocket. That’s about $8,000 with books that we need to cough up during the next 8 months. The first $2,600 is due in 2 weeks, but I have a 0% card till year-end and I’m not worried about it.

I will say that taking 2 classes per semester, while working full-time, is tough. However, right now in my job I don’t take my work home with me, nor do I work long hours. In the summer, I’ll only be taking 1 class even though I could have fit in 2 of my electives rather than just one.

So thanks in advance for any congratulations, and wish me luck for the coming semester. I’m just glad I get a month off between classes!

Great Job CleverDude. Education is expensive huh? I feel the pain because I am still paying on my student loans.
