Simple tip for aggressive drivers
I truly understand why insurance companies charge less when you hit 25 years old. Most people (i.e. Guys) overcome a small maturity hurdle around their mid-twenties. However, we’ll always be immature (sorry guys, it’s true).
I’ve found one key trick to getting myself back on track if I find my temper increasing while driving:
BREATHING
I realize that when I start driving fast, cutting people off, or not letting people merge, that I’M NOT BREATHING! I take a deep, DEEP breath and my head magically clears and I calm down from a 10 to a 4 on the Mean Guy Scale. Yeah, I’m still trying to figure out how to get to a 0 on that scale.
So fellow road ragers, please breathe. It could save your life. More importantly, it could save your family’s lives if they’re in the car, or my family’s lives if they’re driving near you.
Wouldn’t you want other drivers to be careful when they’re driving around your wife and you’re not in the car? Well, you could be one of those other drivers around my wife. Be careful, please.

It’s a vicious cycle isn’t it? We’re angry, we get stressed, we stop breathing which in turn feeds our stress and our anger. It’s amazing what something as simple as taking a deep breath can do for ourselves as well as those around us. Thanks for the reminder.

I’d consider myself a semi-aggressive driver. I don’t cut people off unless they are in the fast line driving like old bettys!
